isa DuBois, a seasoned RE/MAX realtor with 20 years of experience, has found an unorthodox way to make her social media listings stand out. Partnering with brand strategist Eric Cruz, she's traded traditional promotional videos for a more whimsical approach: hide-and-seek in her properties.
The idea was born from a lighthearted conversation between DuBois and Cruz, who asked her how seriously she took herself. Her response – "Not at all" – led to the suggestion of incorporating Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) elements into her videos. DuBois' signature whispery voice now guides viewers through her listings as she playfully hides in each property.
"I had to learn about ASMR," DuBois admits, chuckling. "Eric said, 'Let's do some ASMR,' and I was like, 'What is it?' He wanted me to tap my fingernails on the counter, but they're too short, so he suggested whispering instead."
The unconventional approach has paid off, with DuBois' videos generating significant views. Cruz estimates that editing a 10-20 minute video can take just as long, often prompting him to edit on-the-go. The increased engagement translates to clicks on her listings, and while she hasn't seen a direct spike in sales or leads, other agents are taking notice.
"I've had follow-up calls asking about my strategy," DuBois says with a smile. "But I did this for fun – it's not about generating more business; it's about making myself laugh."
