Palm Coast man accused of exploiting a sick Ormond Beach couple, including signing a do-not-resuscitate order for one of them, had his real estate license revoked in 2018, according to state records. Jason Valiant, 45, was arrested Thursday by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office and charged with an organized scheme to defraud, exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult, grand theft over $100,000, and other crimes.
Valiant's real estate license, issued in December 2021, is listed as inactive despite being current. A previous license issued in 2002 was suspended in April 2017 and revoked in September 2018. Valiant claims to have had over $400 million in transactions spanning his 22-year career and calls himself "Mr. Real Estate Orlando" on one of his listing websites.
Valiant is accused of forging power of attorney documents and signing a do-not-resuscitate order for the couple, who he allegedly wanted to will their oceanfront property to him so he could develop it into condos or a hotel. He used his victims' credit cards to pay for personal expenses, including attorney's fees and dinner.
Constance Kellner, also known as "Coastal" Connie Kellner, was arrested in the incident and charged with being an accessory after the fact. She had full knowledge of Valiant's plans and helped him with fraudulent documents, according to Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood. Kellner posted $25,000 bond and was released Friday.
