n the heart of Rochester, a haven for those seeking more than just second-hand treasures exists. Refashion Consigned Furniture and Clothing is a family-owned business where Alisha and Rob Arguello live their passion daily. Their mission is to support people through life's transitions by offering a unique blend of consignment services, estate sales, home staging, and residential real estate.
For the Arguellos, it's not just about selling items; it's about helping clients navigate the emotional weight that comes with parting ways with cherished possessions. Alisha describes their approach as "treating everyone like family," creating a sense of community within the store. The shop itself is a treasure trove of high-end consigned clothing, furniture, home decor, art, and accessories.
The Arguellos' journey began when they discovered Refashion was for sale in 2020. They saw an opportunity to combine their entrepreneurial spirit with Alisha's mission of promoting the benefits of pre-owned items. The store has since expanded its offerings, moving from a smaller location at the Northgate Center to a spacious 5,500-square-foot space at the River Center Plaza.
As they continue to grow, the Arguellos have noticed a need for estate sales and home staging services. Alisha's approach is to listen to clients' "pain points" and create personalized plans to help them navigate the process. The store partners with fellow consignment businesses in Southeast Minnesota to share resources and provide a one-stop shop experience.
Their estate sale events, like the 1950s-themed time capsule sale, attract hundreds of customers seeking unique treasures. Alisha's goal is to make the process enjoyable for families, allowing them to cherish memories while letting go of possessions. The Arguellos have seen an increase in interest in their estate services, with five potential estates in a week.
The couple's relationships with clients have led to the development of their real estate services. Rob, a licensed Realtor, helps clients sell their homes after they've consigned their items at Refashion. This synergy allows them to provide a comprehensive solution for families navigating life's transitions.
As they reflect on their journey, Alisha and Rob emphasize the importance of building relationships and providing personalized service. Their mantra is "we'll figure it out," embracing the challenges that come with growth and change. They're grateful for the support of their customers and look forward to continuing to serve the Rochester community.
