Rumors swirl Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce to wed at Gilded Age mansion

Taylor Swift, long tied to Rhode Island, may wed at a famed summer retreat there.

R
umors swirl that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are planning a wedding at the Breakers, the opulent Newport estate once owned by the Vanderbilt family. Both 35, they reportedly set a date of June 13 2026—Swift’s lucky number—and allegedly secured the property, even offering a rival bride a payout to shift her plans. Podcast host Fiona Shea said the venue approached an unnamed celebrity, “allegedly Taylor Swift,” asking if she would change her wedding date.

The Breakers, a 70‑room Italian Renaissance mansion built 1893‑1895 for railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt II, was designed by Richard Morris Hunt. The 125,000‑sq‑ft home boasts 50‑ft ceilings, 27 fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers that required steel reinforcement. Its interiors feature carved walnut, Spanish leather, and imported European art; the music room was assembled from pieces shipped from France. A 500‑year‑old stone fireplace anchors the library, whose walls are lined with Ceylon walnut. Italian gardens overlook the sea, echoing the grand summer galas of the Vanderbilts.

Originally costing $7 million (≈$263 million today), the Breakers now appraises near $500 million, with furnishings and art alone worth about $78 million. The Preservation Society of Newport County owns and operates the landmark, which receives thousands of visitors annually. The society has denied any celebrity wedding bookings, with spokesperson Gary Ruff stating, “Taylor Swift is not getting married at the Breakers, or any other property the society runs.”

Despite the denial, speculation continues that the couple might tie the knot nearby, perhaps at the Ocean House Hotel, just steps from Swift’s own Watch Hill estate—a 1930s coastal mansion known locally as Holiday House. Swift has long used her Rhode Island retreat as a sanctuary from the spotlight, hosting star‑filled Fourth‑of‑July parties with guests like Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and Selena Gomez.

Whether the ceremony unfolds amid Vanderbilt splendor or on the cliffs of Watch Hill, fans anticipate a high‑society chapter in the Swift‑Kelce romance. Sources told Page Six that the pair “are getting married next summer in Rhode Island. She is in a hurry to have children.”
