edia mogul Rupert Murdoch has sold his Flatiron triplex at One Madison, located at 23 East 22nd Street, for $23.8 million. The sale comes after two years of trying to find a buyer, with the price dropping from an initial $62 million in 2021 to $28.5 million last June.
Murdoch originally purchased the five-bedroom apartment and another three-bedroom unit for $58 million in 2014. He sold the smaller unit for $12.5 million in October 2022. The triplex features six bathrooms, a corner great room with double-height ceilings, and a 600-square-foot terrace offering views of the Hudson and East rivers.
The building includes amenities such as a doorman, concierge, fitness center, and pool. Compass' Kyle Blackmon had the listing but declined to comment on the sale. The buyer's identity remains unknown due to public records. This sale marks another real estate loss for Murdoch, following REA Group's failed attempt to acquire the UK's largest real estate portal in September.
