ussian billionaire Valery Kogan, a close associate of President Vladimir Putin, is selling his luxurious penthouse at 15 Central Park West for an undisclosed price in an all-cash deal. The apartment, which hit the market last year for $65 million and was most recently listed for $39 million, boasts 5,398 square feet of opulent living space with stunning views of Central Park and the Hudson River.
The Kogans are in the midst of a significant real estate sell-off that began after Putin's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. They have already sold several properties, including their 7-acre Greenwich, Conn., estate for $10.4 million, a penthouse in Tel Aviv for $33 million, and a condo at 515 Park Ave. for $14.5 million.
Their ornate palace at the Plaza Hotel remains on the market for $25 million after receiving a price chop of $2 million last month. The property includes two separate units with a castle-like turret and a third unit across the hall.
The Kogans are known for their extravagant spending, including a lavish wedding for their 19-year-old granddaughter in 2013 that featured performances by Mariah Carey and Elton John. Their Central Park West penthouse features four bedrooms, a private elevator landing, and high-end finishes throughout, including marble and onyx entryways, mahogany walls, and heated floors.
The sale will also include two additional units: a one-bedroom apartment with 1½ bathrooms and a studio. Listing brokers declined to comment on the deal.
