acramento real estate investor Ethan Conrad has fired back in a high-stakes battle, filing a cross-complaint against a woman who accused him of sexual battery. The woman's lawsuit, filed in January, alleged that Conrad lured her into a job opportunity at his company with false promises, only to exploit her vulnerability and commit the heinous act.
Conrad's counterattack, lodged on April 3, paints a vastly different picture. He claims the two had a consensual relationship prior to any alleged incident, and that their interactions were always respectful and lawful. Furthermore, Conrad accuses the woman of secretly recording him during private conversations without his consent, and using those recordings as evidence in her lawsuit.
The woman's lawyers are expected to push back against Conrad's allegations with an anti-SLAPP motion by week's end, seeking to dismiss the cross-complaint altogether. This is not the first time Conrad has faced such accusations; two other women have also filed civil suits against him for similar offenses. Interestingly, he has filed a cross-complaint in one of those cases as well.
Conrad remains unscathed by any criminal charges, but his reputation and business are undoubtedly under scrutiny. As this complex case continues to unfold, the public will be watching closely to see how it all plays out.
