an Antonio's real estate market experienced a significant surge in sales last month, with a 19% increase compared to October 2023, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR). Total sales reached 2,895, with an average home price of $371,545. The number of new listings also saw a notable jump, with approximately 4,412 homes added to the market in October, a 14% increase year-over-year.
This brings the total number of listings to 14,525, a 16% increase compared to last year. SABOR notes that the current inventory level of 5.06 months aligns with a balanced real estate market. "San Antonio's housing market remains stable with robust sales growth, consistent pricing, and ample inventory," said Will Curtis, SABOR's 2024 Chair of the Board.
Bexar County saw a total of 2,009 home sales in October, a 16.2% increase compared to last year. The average home price in Bexar County is up 3.2% to $349,013, and the median price increased by 1.6% to $294,999. Texas as a whole saw a total of 27,405 sales in October, an 11% increase compared to last year.
The average home price in Texas is up 3.3% for the year at $421,922, while the median price increased by 1.5% to $335,000. SABOR notes that Bexar County remains one of the more affordable real estate markets in the state.
