784 Holdings, a Scottsdale-based developer led by Shane Albers, has secured a $41.3 million bridge loan from Extra Space Storage to build a 132,200-square-foot self-storage facility in San Gabriel. The five-story building at 420 South San Gabriel Boulevard is expected to be completed with the help of this financing.
The late Jim Davies and brokers Britt Taylor, Mason Brusseau, Tom Sherlock, and Lauren Maehler of Talonvest Capital represented 1784 Holdings in the deal. Extra Space Storage, a real estate investment trust based in Salt Lake City, provided the bridge loan with an interest-only three-year term and two extension options.
This is not the first time 1784 Holdings has partnered with Extra Space Storage for financing. In May, they secured a $36 million bridge loan from the company to build a Life Storage facility in Hawthorne. The developer also has self-storage projects on the East Coast, including a 200,000-square-foot facility in Bethesda, Maryland.
Founded by Albers in 2013, 1784 Holdings owns and operates 41 storage facilities across 10 states and the United Kingdom. They also own an industrial property in Arizona and two apartment complexes in North Dakota.
