Sensitive Real Estate Data Leaked in Massive Database Breach

Unencrypted database exposed, containing 170,360 records with no password protection.

C
ybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered an unsecured database containing 170,360 records. The database appears to belong to Income Property Investments, but it's unclear if the organization directly manages it or if a third-party contractor does. The exposure period and potential unauthorized access are also unknown.

    Income Property Investments has a diverse portfolio across multiple states, including apartment complexes, hotels, single-family homes, townhomes, and commercial buildings. Fowler found most exposed documents related to hotel information, but some pertained to residential housing.

    The leaked data includes:

    * Employee records with personal details

    * Inspection reports and receipts

    * Police reports with guest and employee arrest information

    * Documentation of property damage and accidents

    * Proof of sickness

    Exposure of personally identifiable information (PII) puts individuals at risk for credit fraud, tax fraud, identity theft, or unauthorized account access.
