A
t Peterson Companies' Fairfax Corner project in Fairfax, Va., excitement is building among tenants and locals alike. This year's $110 million expansion will bring 36,000 sq. ft. of new retail space to the property, including a larger 19,000-sq.-ft. Arhaus store featuring an expansive outdoor furniture display area.
We sought to fill adjacent space with a singular brand that would resonate with consumers and complement our existing tenants. After an intense search, we found Apple, which will be joining REI, Ikea, and Chico's at Fairfax Corner. This significant addition is part of a broader effort to revitalize the property in response to changing retail landscape.
In the past year, we've welcomed 53,000 sq. ft. of new tenants, many of them trending food and beverage brands like Ruthie's All Day and King Arthur Baking Company. To enhance the guest experience, we're making physical improvements around the 42-acre property, including easier navigation and updated directional signage.
Fairfax Corner is a long-term project that requires significant investment to remain relevant in Fairfax County, one of the nation's wealthiest areas. With Apple on board, our tenants are eager for the new energy this brings, and we at Peterson Companies are excited to join them. We're also relocating our headquarters from Fair Lakes to Fairfax Corner, giving employees a walkable and engaging work environment with retail and dining options nearby.
