imone Biles and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, are still waiting for their custom-built lakefront Texas mansion to be finished after over two years of construction. The 28-year-old Olympic gold medalist shared photos on Instagram this week showing the ongoing work at the sprawling property, which includes scaffolding in one living space and unique wooden paneling in another room.
The couple's home appears to require significant work before completion, but it seems they are nearing the finish line. However, Owens' second season with the Chicago Bears is set to kick off on September 8, and he will likely be living in a different location for most of the NFL season. Fortunately, Biles and Owens have already established a home base in Chicago.
Biles revealed in May that they had found a home in the Windy City while shopping for a car to use during their stay. However, she did not share any details about the property or whether they plan to buy or rent it. The couple's future plans are uncertain, with Owens' contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Biles has also sparked interest in her own sporting career by hinting that she may return to gymnastics for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. She told Olympics.com that she hasn't decided whether to retire or give herself another shot at Olympic glory, but wants to do so on her own terms rather than being forced out.
The couple's new home is located near one of the world's premier gymnastics training facilities, which was set up by Biles' parents in their hometown of Spring, Texas. The facility, known as the World Champions Centre, has been a hub for Biles' training and competitions throughout her career.
