kanska's program management and consulting group, Skanska Integrated Solutions (SIS), is serving as program manager for the construction of the Williams College Museum of Art. The new museum, situated on a 6.75-acre site, will be approximately 76,800 square feet and feature exhibits, gathering spaces, teaching areas, and administrative offices.
"We're thrilled to continue working with Williams College to enhance its campus and create a vibrant museum space for students, faculty, and the local community," said John Benzinger, Program Executive at SIS. "Our team is committed to meeting the project's ambitious sustainability goals, which include Passive House design and Living Building Challenge certification."
The museum will be located at the western entrance of Williams College and feature four program areas unified by their materials, open atmosphere, and a centralized gathering space. Skanska will incorporate sustainable design principles throughout the project, including additional elements to track towards Living Building Challenge certification.
This marks SIS's second collaboration with Williams College, following the successful completion of Stetson Hall and Sawyer Library renovation in 2020. Construction on the museum is set to begin in September 2024.
