oston's Roxbury neighborhood is set to benefit from a state-of-the-art campus at Franklin Cummings Tech, a private non-profit college offering affordable technical education. Studio G Architects has completed the topping off of the new campus, marking a significant milestone in providing accessible and transformative technical training.
The collaborative design between Studio G and Studio ENEE features a 68,000-square-foot building with three stories of technology-rich learning environments, adaptable communal spaces, and amenities such as shared classrooms, student lounges, and outdoor gathering areas. A standout feature is the rooftop learning lab, where students can engage directly with sustainable practices and renewable energy technologies.
The campus prioritizes sustainability, aiming for LEED Gold certification through passive design strategies, energy-efficient systems, and renewable energy sources. "We're thrilled to unveil this project that will equip Franklin Cummings Tech students with the resources they need to excel," says Sally Gibson, Senior Project Manager at Studio G Architects.
Dr. Aisha Francis, President and CEO of Franklin Cummings Tech, notes that the new campus represents a significant step towards providing transformative technical education that drives economic growth and generational wealth for students. The facility will serve as a catalyst for revitalizing Nubian Square and create an environment that addresses current student needs while anticipating future educational requirements.
Studio G Architects is proud to partner with Franklin Cummings Tech on this project, looking forward to witnessing its positive impact on the institution and surrounding community.
