Suburban Chicago area ranks among top US ZIP codes for real estate demand

Top in-demand ZIP codes for U.S. real estate are found in the Midwest, with some located near Chicago.

he Midwest is home to the most in-demand ZIP codes for real estate in the US, according to Realtor.com's latest ranking. Out of the top 50 hottest ZIP codes, a whopping 26 are located in the Midwest, with three even making it into the top 10.

    To determine the "hottest" locations, Realtor.com analyzed market demand and the pace of the market using property data from its website. The rankings revealed that homes in these areas have high demand from buyers and spend less time on the market.

    The top Midwest ZIP code is Ballwin, Missouri's 63021, which ranked third overall. Other top-performing locations include Strongville, Ohio (44149) and Bexley, Ohio (43209). The Chicago area also made the cut, with Rockford's 61108 ranking at No. 11, Wheaton's 60189 at No. 12, and Bloomington's 61704 at No. 26.

    Other Midwest cities that cracked the top 50 include Waukesha, Wisconsin (53186), Circle Pines, Minnesota (55014), Racine, Wisconsin (53402), Sheboygan, Wisconsin (53083), Wichita, Kansas (67212), and several others.
