Veteran real estate broker in South Florida awaits sentencing in federal case tied to Russia's Ukraine invasion.

veteran real estate broker in South Florida, Roman Sinyavsky, is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to a federal charge related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sinyavsky has been licensed as a real estate agent in Florida since 1995 and operated several businesses, including Family International Realty and Miami VIP Properties.

    According to prosecutors, Sinyavsky admitted to working with Russian oligarchs Viktor Perevalov and Valeri Abramov, who were under U.S. sanctions, on a scheme to launder money and evade sanctions. As part of his plea agreement, Sinyavsky agreed to forfeit $182,440 and pay a civil penalty of over $1 million to the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

    The FBI Miami and Sunny Isles Beach Police Department investigated the case, which could result in up to five years in prison for Sinyavsky.
