T
he $2.5 billion mixed-use development by the Reuben Brothers' Century Plaza has confirmed a lease for a health and wellness center called The Estate, which is expected to open in the second half of next year. This partnership between Sam Nazarian's SBE, motivational speaker Tony Robbins' Fountain Life, singer Marc Anthony, and strategist Richard Attias aims to scale to 15 hotels and residences and 10 preventative medicine centers by 2030. The location in L.A.'s Century City will be the Estate's first wellness center, occupying a 12,500-square-foot space, which represents 13.5% of the commercial space at the 6-acre property. This space also includes the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel & Residences, Park Elm residential towers, and roughly 100,000 square feet of retail space. Newmark's Jay Luchs is handling retail leasing, while Cultivate Hospitality Group's Peter Peterson is responsible for food and beverage consulting.
The wellness center will provide services focused on prevention, diagnostics, and addressing various conditions to improve quality of life and lifespans. It will be accessible to both Fairmont hotel guests through the lobby and residents of Park Elm's south tower residences. This wellness center is the latest tenant to be revealed for Century Plaza, which has already confirmed the addition of restaurants Milos, KYU, and Sushi Noz.
Century Plaza's diversification of Century City's commercial landscape aligns with the next generation of mixed-use properties in the Los Angeles market, reflecting the upper echelon of projects like Century Plaza and the 17.5-acre One Beverly Hills project for Cain International.
Developers are looking to redefine "mixed-use" for LA buyers, with projects like Century Plaza offering a blend of residential, commercial, and retail spaces in a single location. Sam Nazarian's SBE has taken 15,000 square feet of retail space in Reuben Brothers' Century Plaza, further diversifying the property's offerings.
Reuben Brothers have also been upheld in an EB-5 lender case over Century Plaza debt, demonstrating their commitment to the project's success. Century City's strong office market, walkability, safety, and position to serve other neighborhoods in Los Angeles make it an ideal location for high-rise developments like Century Plaza, which can support residential components.
