According to Danielle Hale, chief economist at Realtor.com, these top-performing ZIP codes stand out for offering strong value and livability despite ongoing affordability challenges and limited inventory. The Northeast and Midwest dominate the list, driven by buyers from high-cost metros seeking relief without sacrificing access to jobs and amenities.
Listings in the top ZIPs saw significantly more views and sold faster than the national average. Homes in these areas sold between 30-42 days faster, with up to 5.2 times more views per listing compared to the US average. Despite having median listing prices above the national average of $441,000, six of the top 10 ZIPs were still more affordable than their surrounding metro areas.

Home shoppers from major metros are driving demand in these areas, with New York City and Boston being the top sources of out-of-area views for several ZIPs. Buyers in these markets have a higher median household income, average credit score, and down payment compared to national averages. Many of the top-performing ZIP codes feature newer or infill construction, highlighting the importance of new development in meeting buyer demand even in a tough market.
