Trump Adds Real Estate Plan for Gaza Development in Peace Deal

President once suggested turning Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

P
resident Donald Trump has introduced a 20‑point plan to end the Gaza conflict and rebuild the region. The proposal demands an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages held by Hamas, and a governance framework for the post‑war period. Trump would chair an international “Board of Peace,” which would supervise a temporary Palestinian committee responsible for daily operations in Gaza.

A key element is a “Trump economic development plan” aimed at attracting investment and modernizing Gaza’s infrastructure. Trump highlights ideas from various international groups and stresses that the plan is designed to benefit Gaza’s residents, who have suffered severe hardship.

After meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump announced that Israel had accepted the plan, though Hamas has yet to respond. Netanyahu’s statement indicated a halt to military operations and a freeze on battle lines until a staged withdrawal could be carried out.

Trump’s vision for Gaza echoes earlier remarks in which he suggested the United States could “take over” the territory and transform it into a “Riviera of the Middle East.” He also once floated permanently relocating Palestinians outside Gaza, a proposal quickly dismissed by Arab and Muslim allies.

According to the United Nations, roughly 90 % of Gaza’s 2 million inhabitants have been displaced, and a UN‑backed panel declared famine in the area last month. Trump’s new plan promises that “no one will be forced to leave Gaza,” encouraging residents to remain and rebuild.

Beyond the political agenda, the Trump Organization has expanded its presence in the Middle East, launching projects in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman. Plans include a Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai and a golf resort in Doha, amid growing scrutiny over the ethics of these deals.
