he Doral City Council voted unanimously in favor of the Trump Organization's plan to develop up to 1,500 luxury condos on the Trump National Doral Miami property. The council approved a site plan, rezoning, and development agreement for the phased project on Wednesday evening, five months after initial approval was granted. Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, attended the meeting but did not speak publicly.
The project, designed by Pascual, Pérez, Kiliddjian, Starr Architects + Planners, will feature 1,498 condos and approximately 142,000 square feet of commercial space across four 20-story buildings. The development will be built on a 56.4-acre portion of the property, previously used for parking lots, not on the golf course or resort area.
Doral Mayor Christi Fraga clarified that the golf courses would not be affected by the project, which was a concern among some residents. Although she voted against the rezoning in August, Fraga supported it on second reading. The latest plan marks a reduction from the 2,300 condos initially proposed in 2022.
The Trump Organization has previously licensed its name to other buildings but will now build its first Trump-branded residential project in South Florida. The development is expected to be built in five phases, with approximately 300 luxury condos in each phase, and may include up to 20 three-story or four-story townhouses fronting the golf course.
