att Bua, owner of b-Home Studio, bought 13.4 acres in Catskill, New York in 2006 to build a unique property where he could experiment with small dwellings and sculptures using salvaged materials. The structures were built by Bua and his friends over the years, utilizing found materials such as vinyl records, dirtbags, and reclaimed wood.
Bua's vision was to create a place where he could express himself creatively without worrying about taking apart his projects. He says, "All this material has a past and has stories and history... The psychic energy that's imbued with things that people have used before is exciting for me." Since buying the first property, Bua and his friends have built over 30 structures on the land.
The property features an array of unique buildings, including a two-story "Tower of LP Power" made from vinyl records, a Tudor-style church, and a small cabin where Bua lived before moving to a nearby town. Although he doesn't know how much he's spent on the project, Bua believes it was worth every penny.
In 2017, Bua met his now-wife and decided to simplify his life by selling the mini-village. The property is currently listed for $269,000 with Coldwell Banker Village Green Realty. Co-listing agent John Iconomou describes the property as "truly magical" and says the structures make it unique. Angela Lanuto, a co-listing agent, notes that there's no way to put a value on the art, saying, "He's taken what people would consider garbage and transformed it into this tiny village under the trees."
Bua is excited for whoever takes over the property and brings their own energy to it, saying, "I'm excited for whoever takes it over and brings whatever good energy they feel it needs."
