Veteran Agent Joins Compass Brokerage

Former Top Broker Jared Schwadron Leaves Official, Co-Founded by Tal and Oren Alexander.

J
ared Schwadron, a longtime member of the Alexander Team, has left Official, the brokerage co-founded by Tal and Oren Alexander. He joined Compass earlier this month, bringing over $65 million in listings with him. This move follows a string of departures from Official as allegations of sexual assault against the Alexander brothers continue to mount.

More than a dozen brokers have left the firm since June, including its entire California outpost and agents across New York and South Florida. The brokerage also pulled out of its Aspen office lease just months after setting up shop. Two developer clients, JDS Development and Michael Shvo's eponymous firm, dropped Official from major projects in South Florida.

Schwadron plans to build a new team at Compass, where he closed over $100 million in sales last year. He previously worked with the Alexander brothers at Douglas Elliman before joining Official as a founding broker. Other notable brokers who have left Official for Compass include John Hudak and Nicholas Lounsbury.

The allegations against the Alexander brothers began to surface earlier this summer after two lawsuits accused Oren and Alon of raping women in New York over a decade ago. Since then, more than a dozen women have come forward with similar accounts, leading to a significant exodus from Official. The brokerage's co-founders, Nicole Oge, Richard Jordan, and Andrew Wachtfogel, left the firm after Tal and Oren threatened legal action if they were voted out.
