Washington Commanders' success contrasts with Dan Snyder's struggling Fairfax property

A schadenfreude moment for die-hard fans: a real estate twist.

D
an Snyder's $60 million Potomac River estate, River View, remains unsold after being listed last summer. The 16.5-acre Fairfax County property boasts a 16,000-square-foot main house, guest and carriage houses, and a dock. Features include eight bedrooms, nine baths, six half-baths, a home gym, indoor pool, spa with sauna and steam rooms, game room, and a 15-seat movie theater.

Snyder purchased the estate for $48 million in cash in 2021 after selling the Commanders. The listing comes as the team he sold has experienced a resurgence without him, potentially heading to the Super Bowl. This isn't the first time the Snyders have struggled to sell an oversized property; they previously listed their Potomac mega-mansion for $49 million before donating it to charity.

The estate's sale could be influenced by the Washington D.C. area's real estate market, which has seen a "Trump bump" in recent years. The listing price of $60 million is potentially record-setting, and the property's unique features may appeal to high-end buyers looking for a luxurious retreat.
