edium Rare, the pioneering Steak Frites prix fixe meal experience, has expanded its presence in the Boston area with a new location at 107 Bond Sq. in Watertown. This ninth outpost promises to win over discerning diners with its signature offerings.
"We're obsessed with delivering exceptional quality," says Mark Bucher, co-owner of Medium Rare. "Our secret sauce is the key to our success – it's been perfected through hundreds of variations and has a cult following worldwide." The sauce is served alongside an award-winning Culotte Steak, seared to preference, fresh-cut French fries, mixed greens salad, and artisanal rustic bread, all for $34.95.
Vegetarians and vegans can enjoy a portobello mushroom entree with roasted red-pepper sauce. Complimentary seconds on main-course items are available, along with homemade desserts and drinks. A curated selection of cocktails, wine, and beer is also offered at an additional charge.
Weekend brunch features unlimited cocktails, coffee, juice, and soda for $39.95, with options including Steak Frites, portobello mushroom hash, and 24-hour-soaked French toast. The rustic restaurant offers a unique atmosphere, complete with crayon-written orders on table covers and flirty French pick-up lines on cocktail napkins.
Medium Rare's commitment to philanthropy is evident in its Feed the Fridge program, which provides daily meals for 3,600 people across D.C., Virginia, and New Orleans. The company plans to expand into NFL cities, with Philadelphia set to open in November and a total of 11 locations by the end of 2024.
Dinner hours are Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Brunch is served on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Private party space and catering are also available.
