Westbrook Metals Relocates Near Austin Airport, Abandoning North Austin Facility

Westbrook Metals Relocates to Industrial Area Near Austin-Bergstrom Airport.

W
estbrook Metals, a family-owned metal supplier based in Austin, is relocating its operations to a more industrial area near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The company has begun constructing a 41,000-square-foot facility at 8208 Burleson Road in Southeast Austin, which is expected to open in early 2026.

The new site will replace the current 27,000-square-foot location on Canion Street, where Westbrook Metals has been based since 1960. The company's president, Terry Westbrook, cited significant urban development in North Austin as a reason for the move, stating that it's becoming increasingly difficult to operate an industrial business in the area due to high-rise residential developments and limited access.

The new facility is strategically located near major highways and closer to its customer base, which includes machine shops, welders, and fabricators primarily based in Southeast Austin and surrounding cities. The company currently employs around 20 people in Austin and hopes that the new site will enable it to hire additional staff to meet growing demand.

Westbrook Metals moves near Austin Airport, leaving North Austin facility.
