Grayslake estate, known as Eagle Nest Manor, has been privately listed for sale at just under $10 million. The 9,000-square-foot property is being marketed by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago agents Kim Shortsle and Carleigh Goldsberry. Michele Giambrone, who co-founded Platinum Home Mortgage with her late husband William, is selling the estate after his passing in August.
The mansion, built in 1989, boasts nine bedrooms, six full bathrooms, a movie theater, game room, and sauna. The grounds feature three fishing ponds, English gardens, fire pits, a sport court, and volleyball court, as well as an outdoor kitchen, pool house, hot tub, and gazebo. A barn with multiple garage spaces and honey bee colonies also comes with the property.
The luxury residential market in suburban Chicago has seen a surge in high-end listings, with areas like Lake Forest, Naperville, and Lincoln Park attracting affluent buyers seeking exclusivity and luxury. Recent examples include a 15,000-square-foot mansion in Lake Forest listed for $28 million and a 20,000-square-foot mansion in Naperville listed for $10 million.
The Giambrones' property tax bill came to $46,265 last year, according to Lake County records. The three parcels on which the estate sits are valued at $1.96 million for tax purposes, significantly lower than the asking price of the property.
