ctress Barret Swatek and her husband, Adam Weiss, are parting ways with their $45 million Maui beachfront estate as they prepare to relocate to Alabama. The couple is auctioning off the 21,700-square-foot home, which features bold geometric designs, vibrant hues, and dramatic lighting effects, after welcoming their newborn daughter, Dixon.

    The property, designed by renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta, boasts a tranquil courtyard with reflecting pools, a lap pool, a wine room, and arcade games. The luxury compound also includes a gym, yoga studio, and an arcade-packed game room, as well as a primary suite with a custom dressing room.

    Swatek, who grew up on a horse farm in Alabama, wants to provide her daughter with a similar childhood experience. The couple plans to build a home on Swatek's family property outside Birmingham. After initially seeking an off-market sale for $65 million, they opted for an auction instead, which is set to take place from April 10 to 22.

    The auction will be handled by Concierge Auctions, and bidding is expected to start between $17.5 million and $35 million with no reserve price. The couple hopes the auction's timeline will attract serious buyers, but reserves the right to cancel if bids are unsatisfactory.

    Swatek cherishes her Alabama upbringing and recalls fond memories of riding bareback with her brothers on their family's horse farm. She and Weiss plan to move to the property outside Birmingham, where they can raise their daughter closer to family. Despite the paradise setting of their Maui home, Swatek found herself longing for her childhood experiences.

    The couple has invested millions in renovations and custom furnishings throughout the estate, which will be included in the sale. They previously sold their Malibu home for $70.4 million in 2022 and hope to achieve a similar price for their Maui property through the auction process.
