British restaurant chain Pizza Pilgrims is continuing its expansion course, choosing the Bavarian capital for its market entry into Germany. At Leopoldstraße 56a in the Munich district of Schwabing, the hospitality business has leased a retail unit to open its first German restaurant at the end of October 2026.
The future restaurant space comprises approximately 255 square metres of sales area. Pizza Pilgrims succeeds the previous tenant Pide Go Minga and will serve authentic Neapolitan pizza and Italian specialities at this address.
Brokered by Lührmann on established Schwabing boulevard
Brokerage firm Lührmann acted in an advisory and intermediary capacity for the transaction. According to Anja Patricia Heyen, Senior Consultant Retail Leasing at Lührmann's Munich branch, the concept fits neatly into the surroundings of Leopoldstraße, as the brand combines quality, international appeal, and a contemporary dining experience that characterise the location. Her colleague Nadine Brand, also Senior Consultant Retail Leasing at Lührmann in Munich, emphasises that the location offers ideal conditions for the debut of the concept on the German market.
Pizza Pilgrims was founded in London in 2012 by brothers Thom and James Elliot. The concept originated from a trip to Naples, which led to the development of a well-established Neapolitan pizza brand in the United Kingdom. Today, the company operates more than 30 restaurants across the UK and is currently ranked sixth in the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2025.
