The owner and development company Rudin has appointed a new head for its capital planning, design, and construction projects. Steven McKessey has joined the company as Head of Design and Construction. He brings over 20 years of experience from leading construction and consulting firms, as announced by Rudin. McKessey will oversee the entire 13.1 million square foot commercial and residential portfolio of the New York real estate company.
McKessey began his role on 17 August, succeeding Sevinc Yuksel, who moved to Empire State Realty Trust in June. His appointment underscores Rudin's commitment to high standards in project development and portfolio management.
Extensive Experience in the Real Estate Industry
Samantha Rudin Earls, Co-CEO of Rudin, commented on McKessey's appointment in a statement: “Steven joins Rudin with a broad spectrum of experience in creating first-class developments in New York and the Tri-State area. He brings the leadership qualities and technical expertise required to deliver the highest quality standards to our clients across our entire portfolio.”
McKessey spent the last seven years at Cumming Group, most recently as Executive Vice President. There, he played a pivotal role in the conversion of office space into residential units at the One Wall Street property for Macklowe Properties. Prior to that, he worked for Turner Construction from 2004 to 2014, and then spent a year as a design and construction consultant for McKinsey & Company. These roles have shaped his comprehensive knowledge of the industry.
