UBM Development AG has completed the placement of its new green bond 2026-2031 with the ISIN AT0000A3XJY7. The total issue volume placed amounts to EUR 58 million. The transaction includes both the exchange of existing liabilities and the raising of fresh liquidity via the capital market.
As part of the exchange offer, investors converted approximately EUR 18 million of the nominal value of the previous green bond 2023-2027 into the new instrument, representing a share of 36 per cent. Through this extension of maturities, the redemption volume due in 2027 is reduced to EUR 32 million nominal. The accompanying cash subscription provided the property developer with an additional EUR 40 million in new capital.
Use of proceeds and maturity structure
The proceeds raised will primarily serve to refinance eligible sustainable projects. UBM intends to invest the capital released specifically into the further expansion of its project pipeline in the affordable housing sector. As Patric Thate, Chief Financial Officer of UBM Development AG, explained, the capital market remains a central pillar of the corporate financing strategy.
Thate highlighted the growing interest from international subscribers, particularly from Eastern Europe, where the company is well established. According to the company, extending the liabilities smooths the repayment profile, with the next major bond maturity of EUR 93 million in total volume now not due until October 2029.
Details on the issue and transaction structure
The issue was aimed at investors in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg as part of a public offer subject to a prospectus. In other countries, the issue took place via private placements. The planned value date of the bond is 30 October 2026. Admission is sought to the Official Market (Corporates Prime segment) of the Vienna Stock Exchange and to the Quotation Board of the Open Market on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
