Aquilius Investment Partners, an investment firm specialising in private market secondaries in the Asia-Pacific region, has appointed Alexander Hoffmann as Managing Director in its investment team. Bastian Wolff, founding partner of Aquilius, expressed delight at gaining an experienced real estate expert with deep market understanding in the region. He highlighted that Hoffmann's track record across diverse market cycles and his existing network represented an ideal addition to the company's platform.
Mr Hoffmann brings nearly two decades of experience in international real estate investments. His professional career includes senior roles at global investment firms in Europe and Asia. Most recently, he was responsible for real estate secondaries investments in the Asia-Pacific region at Partners Group. Prior to that, he worked for Allianz Real Estate in Singapore and for the SIGNA Group in Munich.
Strategic Expansion in a Dynamic Market Environment
Alexander Hoffmann noted that the current market environment offers numerous attractive opportunities for secondary investments in Asia. He already knows Aquilius founders Bastian Wolff and Christian Keiber from previous shared professional roles. Hoffmann values their entrepreneurial approach, their clear long-term perspective, and their high quality standards. He looks forward to being part of the company's development and jointly expanding its leading market position in Asia with the team.
Aquilius was founded in 2021 by Bastian Wolff and Christian Keiber in Singapore. Both founders have been active in the region for over 15 years and have jointly completed private market transactions with an equity volume of more than US$4 billion in the Asia-Pacific region. The company currently manages approximately US$2 billion and employs a team of around 30 investment and private market experts across its locations in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
In November 2023, the company closed its second real estate secondaries fund with a volume exceeding US$1.1 billion, representing the largest real estate secondaries programme in the Asia-Pacific region to date. Parallel to this development, Aquilius is strategically expanding its institutional investor base in Europe, with a particular focus on the German-speaking countries.
