The real estate company Aroundtown has assigned two of its hotel properties on Berlin's Alexanderplatz to Leonardo Hotels on a long-term basis. This transaction solidifies the existing relationship between the two companies, which is already characterised by the letting of the Badischer Hof in Baden-Baden. The leases for the two Berlin properties were extended for a duration of 20 years each as part of this agreement.
The properties in question, formerly known as H2 and H4 Hotels, will operate under new brands by Leonardo Hotels. The former H2 Hotel will operate as Leonardo Smart Berlin Alexanderplatz in future. The former H4 Hotel will now be managed under the name Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz by Leonardo Hotels. Both properties are located in the immediate vicinity of Alexanderplatz, one of the capital's major transport hubs, offering comprehensive connections to the urban infrastructure network.
Property Profiles and Target Group Approach
The Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz by Leonardo Hotels comprises 336 rooms and suites. Its facilities are primarily aimed at business travellers and guests attending conferences and events. In addition to a restaurant and bar, a fitness and sauna area are available. Complementing this, the hotel offers more than ten event rooms, which have a capacity for over 700 people.
The Leonardo Smart Berlin Alexanderplatz has 288 rooms. This establishment particularly appeals to leisure travellers with shorter stays. The offerings include four-bed rooms, which are suitable for groups and families. In addition to a breakfast restaurant, bicycle rental and parking facilities complement the service offering. The profiles of the two hotels allow for covering different accommodation and usage needs at the central Berlin Alexanderplatz location.
Strategic Importance of the Partnership
Barak Bar-Hen, CEO of Aroundtown, commented on the transaction by stating that an experienced operator has been secured for two properties at one of Berlin's most important locations with Leonardo Hotels. The long-term lease agreement lays a reliable foundation for the further development of the hotels, and they are delighted about the renewed collaboration. Jan Heringa, Vice President Development and Project Management at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, underscored the significance of taking over the hotels on Alexanderplatz as a decisive step in the cooperation with Aroundtown. He emphasised that both properties, with their specific orientations, ideally complement the offerings in Berlin, and they intend to operate the locations jointly in the long term.
Aroundtown is known as one of the largest real estate companies in Europe. The company boasts a diversified portfolio, which includes a variety of hotel locations in addition to office and residential properties.
