The Max Bögl Group has acquired the Kanalweg 35 plot in Neumarkt. This site, formerly the Stettner company’s operational premises, was decommissioned after the turn of the millennium and has since been used for storage. The Neumarkt City Council unanimously approved the sale to the regional company in its last meeting before the summer break.

The future use of the 12,500 square metre site is planned as a general residential area. This is in line with the already existing neighbouring developments. In July of the previous year, the City Council had unanimously passed the resolution to establish a development plan, which includes the construction of multi-family homes and an underground car park.

The sale of the site was preceded by detailed investigations related to its former commercial use. These surveys, along with consultations with the District Office and the Water Management Office, formed the basis for an expert report. The report certifies the Max Bögl Group, as an experienced specialist in civil engineering, for their technical and economic mastery of the situation.

Demolition work on the Stettner site is scheduled to begin next year. The renewal of the municipal main sewer, located on the eastern side of the property, also requires special planning consideration. The plans for this have not yet been finalised. Further information on the planned residential construction project, as well as notification to residents about the upcoming construction measures, will be provided in a timely manner.

Mayor Markus Ochsenkühn expressed his delight at the future-oriented development of the Stettner site, which had been owned by the city for decades. He highlighted that a strong company, the Max Bögl Group, was found for the development. The negotiations with the Max Bögl Group were described as intensive, but always on an equal footing and goal-oriented. Leading Administrative Director Linus Sklenarz, Head of the “Economy and Finance” department of the city administration, emphasised the benefit of every remediated brownfield site for Neumarkt. He highlighted that through the cooperation between the city and the Max Bögl Group, the revitalisation of an industrial brownfield and the development of a residential quarter in a central location is being achieved, which concretely advances the shaping of Neumarkt's future.

Johann Bögl, a partner in the Max Bögl Group, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the city and the planned residential construction project. He emphasised the significant potential of the former Stettner site, owing to its size and central location in Neumarkt. He thanked the city for its trust and the employees involved, expert consultants, and authorities for their focused and intensive work in anticipation of the future residential development.
