VALDIVIA, an executive search consultancy operating in the construction, real estate and financial sectors, has expanded its range of services. With the foundation of Valdivia Interim Associates (VIA), the company is establishing a new business unit focused on interim management. This step is the result of a comprehensive market analysis, concrete market signals, and increased demand from companies for flexible solutions for filling key positions in temporary contexts.
The development of the new business unit was also significantly influenced by the assessments of VALDIVIA's advisory board. VIA complements VALDIVIA's existing executive search offering by providing the ability to fill strategically relevant executive and senior expert roles in the short and medium term. The unit is already operational and will be further expanded in the coming months. Anthony Baumruk, Partner at VALDIVIA and responsible for Valdivia Interim Associates, explained that VIA offers clients greater flexibility in filling key positions in the DACH region, particularly in restructuring and transformation processes, where experienced interim managers can quickly provide support.
Valdivia Interim Associates draws on VALDIVIA's established industry knowledge and network, combining this with a pool of experienced executives and experts specifically selected for interim mandates. The aim is to provide companies with suitable candidates at short notice, even in time-critical situations. Initial candidate proposals are to be made within 48 hours, with operational deployment within a few days. VIA offers two specific contract models for different client requirements.
- —Managed Interim Mandate (MIM): Here, VIA acts as the central contractual partner and assumes control and quality assurance throughout the entire project duration.
- —Direct Consulting Engagement (DCE): In this model, a direct contractual relationship is established between the company and the Interim Consultant, with VIA handling the selection and matchmaking of the parties.
The establishment of the new unit is also viewed by the VALDIVIA Advisory Board as a response to changing industry requirements. Thomas Dries, a member of the VALDIVIA Advisory Board since 2026 and with 30 years of experience in banking, capital markets and real estate finance, emphasised that the real estate industry faces demanding financial and structural challenges. In this context, it is crucial to identify entrepreneurial leaders with a strong understanding of markets and capital structures. Dries praised VALDIVIA's clear focus and the use of future-oriented AI technologies at this interface.
Nils Hübener, also a member of the VALDIVIA Advisory Board and with over 25 years of experience in fund, investment and asset management, sees VALDIVIA as a dynamically growing company in an exciting market segment. He highlighted that executive search in the real estate industry today requires a deep understanding of business models, markets and leadership requirements, which he believes VALDIVIA possesses. Daniel Bauer, Managing Partner at VALDIVIA, added that VIA pursues a practical and solution-oriented approach to interim management by quickly bringing together experienced executives with suitable mandates. This combination of expertise, network and technological support creates added value for companies in transformation situations.
