The AVENTOS Group reports the successful letting of the last vacant unit in the former Ceramics Processing Plant at the VAREAL commercial district in Mannheim. The new tenant is the H. Gautzsch Group, an owner-managed family business with its headquarters in Münster. The company is one of Germany's leading medium-sized specialist wholesale groups, with a presence at over 70 locations and more than 1,400 employees. Its business areas include electrical wholesale as well as services in plant engineering, logistics, and e-business.
The electrical wholesale division of the H. Gautzsch Group sells its products exclusively to businesses with qualified electrical specialists. Until the final completion of the long-term leased units, which is scheduled for the end of 2026, the H. Gautzsch Group will use a BENTO Box within VAREAL. This flexible commercial unit enables the company to immediately commence business operations at the new site, even before the conversion work is completed.
Conceptual strength and locational advantages
Mona Kienberger, Developer at AVENTOS, pointed out that securing the H. Gautzsch Group means bringing a leading medium-sized company in electrical wholesale to VAREAL. At the same time, this means the last available unit in the former Ceramics Processing Plant is now occupied. The opportunity for H. Gautzsch to move into a BENTO Box before the completion of the main units underscores the flexibility of AVENTOS's unit concept. The company can offer different solutions within VAREAL for various development phases of its tenants.
The former Ceramics Processing Plant represents one of VAREAL's defining existing buildings. The revitalisation of this industrial hall, where ceramics were once processed industrially, creates modern and sustainable office and storage spaces while preserving the historical industrial character. This transformation reflects the comprehensive development of the entire commercial district.
VAREAL is developing into a contemporary commercial park with a total area of approximately 40,000 square metres through ongoing construction work. Its excellent accessibility for companies in the region is ensured by direct connections to public transport and the Mannheim motorway ring road.
