Lazard Asset Management (Deutschland) GmbH has expanded its team in the Third Party Distribution (TPD) segment with a new appointment. As of 3 August 2023, René Frick has been working as Senior Vice President at the Frankfurt office. He complements the existing team led by Andreas Rau, Director and Head of Third Party Distribution at Lazard Asset Management.
In his new role, Frick will primarily be responsible for looking after fund-of-funds managers, private banks, large independent asset managers, and multi-family offices. His duties include maintaining and expanding business relationships with these institutional clients. This strategic personnel decision underscores the importance of the German market for Lazard Asset Management in the context of third-party distribution.
Extensive experience in the distribution of investment products
René Frick has approximately 17 years of expertise in the distribution of investment products. Prior to joining Lazard Asset Management, he worked at LAIQON AG, where he was responsible for sales to existing and new clients in the retail and wholesale segments in Central and West Germany. Before that, he gained several years of experience at FENTHUM, the joint sales network of MainFirst and Ethenea, in wholesale distribution and client support.
Further professional positions included roles at MainFirst Bank AG and in Multi Asset Solutions at Deutsche Bank AG. Frick completed his academic training as a Dipl.-Betriebswirt (FH) with a focus on banking and financial services at Hochschule Mainz. This sound education and long-standing practical experience qualify him for the demanding tasks at Lazard Asset Management.
Strategic relevance of the German market
Andreas Rau emphasised the strategic importance of the German market for Lazard Asset Management's third-party distribution. He explained that large asset allocators and private wealth management units are increasingly demanding differentiated investment solutions and close dialogue with asset managers. With the appointment of René Frick, the team is now able to serve these client groups even more intensively and targetedly.
René Frick expressed his delight at joining Lazard Asset Management's TPD team in Germany. He highlighted that Lazard stands for a broad spectrum of active investment solutions and expert, well-founded support for professional investors. This orientation corresponds with his own ideas of a successful client relationship in the institutional sector.
