The ALEXA shopping and leisure centre at Alexanderplatz in Berlin has recorded a new tenant in the upscale apparel segment. The owner-managed fashion business Santoro Fashion is opening a shop with a rental area of just over 104 square metres on the first floor of the property on 30 October. The retail unit will in future be dedicated to the sale of both womenswear and menswear.
Real estate services provider Sonae Sierra was responsible for concluding the lease agreement. The company manages the centre management as well as leasing activities for the prominent retail property on behalf of institutional owner Union Investment. The new letting underlines the continued demand for established space in high-footfall Berlin retail locations.
Product range and profile at Alexanderplatz
Santoro Fashion's range consists of a curated selection of Italian collections and international fashion brands. The concept combines ready-to-wear sales with a strong emphasis on personal styling advice to create an individual shopping experience on the shop floor.

- —International apparel brands such as Calvin Klein, Strellson and True Religion
- —Focus on qualified, personal customer service on the first floor
Significance for the retail mix
Oliver Hanna, Sonae Sierra Centre Manager of the ALEXA, emphasises in this context that fashion continues to be a central anchor for the scheme's profile. The newcomer blends harmoniously into the existing tenant mix and adds targeted appeal for visitors seeking inspiration for current fashion trends and individual styling concepts.
Owner Michele Sucato points to the strategic orientation of the business model. The aim is to offer a space where customers feel welcome and where bespoke style advice takes centre stage. By occupying the unit in ALEXA, Santoro Fashion is bringing this advisory-led approach to one of the highest-footfall retail destinations in the federal capital.
