BFW Landesverband Bayern is expanding its network in the field of energy-efficient building refurbishment. Energy service provider FASTR is acting as a bronze partner of the association with immediate effect. The cooperation was originally initiated by BayWa Energie Dienstleistungs GmbH and is now continuing under the name FASTR following its integration and completed rebranding.

At the core of the collaboration is the economically viable and scalable decarbonisation of property portfolios across Bavaria. The service company brings its energy-sector expertise to develop viable concepts for the upcoming transformation of the building stock in dialogue with association members and political decision-makers.

Focus on economic viability and practical feasibility

Reconciling climate protection, profitability and a reliable energy supply forms the main focus of the partnership. Jens Goldmund, Head of Commercial at FASTR, emphasises that the property sector requires pragmatic solutions that work in existing portfolios rather than merely satisfying theoretical specifications. BFW Bayern provides the suitable platform to drive targeted exchange with companies, specialist stakeholders and local authorities.

In terms of content, the cooperation focuses on several key areas intended to provide members with guidance during the regulatory and energy-sector transition:

  • —Continuous transfer of knowledge on current developments in the energy sector
  • —Targeted advisory and further training services for property companies
  • —Development of practical approaches to decarbonising complex property holdings
  • —Deepening the dialogue with municipal representatives and political decision-makers

Association dialogue between the real estate and energy sectors

The association's leadership also underlines the importance of a joint approach across both sectors. Peter Hülsen, Managing Director of BFW Landesverband Bayern, emphasises that the building sector can only achieve its designated transformation targets through close coordination between the property and energy industries. In FASTR, the association gains a partner that combines sound technical expertise with an understanding of the economic conditions facing BFW member companies.

By pooling these competencies, information sharing within the Bavarian association is to be deepened, with the clear objective of identifying concrete courses of action for upcoming refurbishment and modernisation projects.
