The Hotel Bristol Berlin, an established Berlin address on Kurfürstendamm, is undergoing a strategic new beginning. Following a revitalisation carried out by Aroundtown, the property will be integrated into IHG Hotels & Resorts' Vignette Collection as the first German establishment. This inclusion marks a significant step in the hotel's repositioning as a modern luxury abode, harmonising historical identity with the demands of contemporary guests. The comprehensive renovation was carried out in several construction phases, which are due to be completed by the end of 2026.

The modernisation measures encompassed all rooms and suites, as well as the public areas of the hotel. Particular attention was paid to preserving distinctive architectural elements, including the historic staircase, which were carefully restored and integrated into the new design concept. The aim of the renovation is to establish the traditional hotel as a luxury establishment that combines timeless elegance, sophisticated design and high comfort. Interior design plays a central role in this, by creating spaces that unite modern luxury with cosiness.

Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director Northern Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated that the Bristol Berlin embodies the values of the Vignette Collection through its exceptional history and local presence. The individual character of the establishment and its connection to its location were decisive factors in its selection as the brand's first German property. He emphasised that the hotel is a milestone for IHG's luxury portfolio and exemplifies how an established Berlin institution can evolve in a contemporary manner without losing its core identity.

Marije Bekker, COO Hotel Division at Aroundtown, highlighted that the renovation represents a targeted investment in the future of a traditional property within the Aroundtown portfolio. This strengthens the hotel's competitiveness in the market and harnesses the potential of its prominent location on Kurfürstendamm. The repositioning also includes a return to the culinary roots of the establishment, which, as the first location of Berlin's wine and delicatessen house M. Kempinski & Co., continues a gastronomic tradition spanning over 130 years.

The Vignette Collection was founded in 2021 and comprises individual luxury hotels that possess their own stories and distinctive identities, while simultaneously benefiting from IHG's quality standards and international network. Authentic experiences, thoughtful design and a close connection to the respective destination are characteristic of this collection. Globally, over 30 properties already belong to the Vignette Collection; another 45 hotels are currently under development.

Each hotel in the Vignette Collection preserves its specific identity and combines this with the aspiration to create exceptional and responsible travel experiences. As part of IHG's 'Journey to Tomorrow' sustainability strategy, each property is committed to an individual 'A Means For Good' project for its region and collaborates with local charitable organisations to make a sustainable contribution to the local community. This combination of historical substance, authentic experiences and modern luxury, paired with a deep connection to Berlin, shapes the values of the Bristol Berlin within the Vignette Collection.
