Brivo, a cloud-based, AI-powered security company, aims to make commercial and multi-family properties safer using AI-driven video agents. This encompasses a broad spectrum of challenges, from intruders to efficient waste management. In March, the Bethesda, Md.-based company introduced Eeva, a real-time AI video agent that monitors a range of issues, including retail crime, workplace safety, and illegal fly-tipping.
The tool allows teams to create custom alerts from standard security cameras without requiring programming knowledge. Owners can use AI to continuously monitor all cameras for relevant events, such as illegal fly-tipping, and send text or email notifications to managers in the event of an incident.
Brivo's platform integrates access control, video surveillance, and incident reporting into a unified system. The company emphasises the flexibility of the system, which can adapt to various property requirements and regional conditions. These functions are particularly useful for multi-family dwellings, for instance, by offering facial recognition for secure access.
Lee Miller, Vice President of Multifamily at Brivo, explains: "We have unified the platform into a single security solution. We can see someone arrive using their mobile phone, and we have the video footage simultaneously – everything related to security converges on one platform." He illustrates the application: "Imagine a multi-family building – car parks are always an issue with car break-ins. We monitor these cameras and can directly address the person and say, 'Hey! We're calling the police.' Or, more directly, if something requires immediate action, we can call the police directly as soon as we observe the incident."
Brivo's multi-family security solution includes portfolio management for centralised control of all properties within a portfolio, complemented by AI-powered protection with remote video surveillance and the Eeva AI for detecting violations and trespasses.
Additionally, the Brivo Genius Mobile Agent allows managers to handle lockouts, issue security credentials, and generate compliance reports via voice command. The platform also automates workflows from property management systems through native integrations with industry-leading companies such as Yardi, RealPage, RentManager, and Entrata, to automate resident permissions and move-in/move-out processes. Its smart-building intelligence enables access control from the street to individual dwelling units with a single credential such as a smartphone, a physical token, a PIN code, or optional facial recognition.
Furthermore, the platform offers a forward-looking architecture, which Brivo describes as an open system. It works with existing security cameras and access control infrastructures and integrates with third-party technologies to be compatible with future technological innovations.
