Construction has commenced on a significant residential project at Silbersteinstraße 26 in Berlin-Neukölln. A new building is being erected on a plot of approximately 950 square metres, which will comprise 51 rental flats upon completion. The total living area for this undertaking amounts to around 3,000 square metres. The project is being realised by KIMAVI GmbH and will be transferred to the portfolio of STADT UND LAND Wohnbauten-Gesellschaft mbH after the completion of the construction work.
Focus on Subsidised Housing
A key component of this project is the creation of affordable housing. Of the total 51 residential units, 49 are explicitly designated as subsidised housing. These subsidised flats account for approximately 2,920 square metres of living space, representing the majority of the developed area. This focus underscores the commitment to creating much-needed, rent-controlled housing in the Berlin metropolitan region.
The design of the residential units considers a wide range of household sizes and housing needs. Plans include 20 one-room flats, 14 two-room flats, and 14 three-room flats. The offering is complemented by three four-room flats. This diversification allows STADT UND LAND to strategically expand its provision of affordable housing in Neukölln and meet diverse requirements. The structure of the flats has thus been designed for a target-group-oriented distribution.

With this venture, STADT UND LAND is expanding its capacities in the rent-controlled housing segment in Berlin-Neukölln. The realisation of these flats contributes to meeting the urban demand for housing at socially acceptable rents. The planning and implementation of the Silbersteinstraße project thus reflect property development oriented towards sustainability and social responsibility. The project is currently in the construction phase and is progressing according to the scheduled timeline.
According to current planning, the completion of the new building is expected in the second quarter of 2028. The development of this construction project represents a relevant contribution to urban housing provision and aligns with efforts to create a balanced housing structure in Berlin.
