Coolblue, an established electronics retail company, opened a new branch in Leipzig on 26 June 2026. Urs Möller, the Country Manager Germany, inaugurated the store together with a team of 25 employees. This location at Grimmaische Straße 10 is Coolblue's first store in Saxony and its ninth in Germany, following the opening of the Berlin store earlier in June.
The new retail space spans approximately 1,800 square metres and is structured across two floors. Customers will find a comprehensive selection of electrical and household appliances there. The location serves to further expand Coolblue's brick-and-mortar presence in Germany and underscores the importance of a physical product experience combined with digital services.
Product Experience and Consultation Services
Within the store, eight product worlds are presented, ranging from smartphones and laptops to consumer electronics such as televisions and headphones, as well as kitchen and large household appliances like washing machines and refrigerators. Trained staff offer brand-independent advice. The store concept also integrates everyday application scenarios, from home office workstations to gaming setups, to make products tangible in a realistic way.
Digital services complement the shopping experience. A welcome pillar at the entrance allows for quick registration for consultations or the collection of goods ordered online. The in-store mode of the Coolblue app automatically registers arrival for a scheduled consultation appointment. Additionally, there is a parcel wall where online orders can be collected using a QR code after purchase. The store's open design concept allows payment directly with specialist advisors, without separate till areas.
Site Selection and Service Spectrum
Urs Möller emphasised the choice of Leipzig as a location. He characterised the city as economically strong with a dynamic city centre and a wide catchment area. The objective is to establish a prominent presence in the region and intensify proximity to customers.
Coolblue's service also extends to the delivery and installation of large household appliances and televisions. Coolblue has been providing these services to the region since late 2025, including scheduled delivery from the next working day, installation, and the free removal of old appliances. Delivery is carried out by the company's own staff. The teams announce their arrival by phone 15 minutes beforehand and, if desired, offer installation and the fitting of TV wall mounts. Old appliances and packaging materials are taken away for proper recycling.
