David Falk, the legendary sports agent who turned Michael Jordan into a global icon, has listed his oceanfront estate on Kiawah Island for $25 million. Falk signed Jordan shortly before his selection by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Draft and later convinced Nike to build its marketing campaign around the rookie. In doing so, he coined the now-famous name “Air Jordan,” which revolutionised the sneaker industry.

Completed in 2006, the maritime-inspired residence spans two amalgamated oceanfront plots. Reports indicate that Falk's construction costs amounted to approximately $16 million. Should the property sell at this price, it could set a new residential real estate record for the island.

Features and amenities of the estate

Designed by a Harvard-trained architect along with a team of engineers and a builder, Falk's three-storey house is accessed via a long driveway that winds through oak and pine trees. Just before the main entrance, a traditional double wedding staircase leads to the entrance portal, where a lighthouse-inspired central column and a marble compass inlaid in the foyer floor introduce the home's maritime theme.

Beyond the entrance area, the approximately 8,800-square-foot interior boasts six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a powder room, with an elevator connecting all three levels. At the heart of the house is a living room, overlooked by a large oval gallery and enclosed by glass walls that offer views of the curving coastline. The adjacent dining area leads into a kitchen fitted with warm wood cabinetry, while a partition creates a division to the two-storey master suite.

Exclusive outdoor areas and further amenities

The ocean-facing rooms extend onto terraces that surround a 110-foot infinity-edge swimming pool, a covered cabana, and an outdoor fireplace. From the pool terrace, a private boardwalk leads over the dunes directly to the beach. Additionally, the property offers the option of a Kiawah Island Club Golf membership, granting access to the community's private golf courses, beach clubs, tennis facilities, and clubhouses, further enhancing the appeal of this luxury offering.

  • Price: $25 million

  • Bedrooms: 6
  • Bathrooms: 7 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom
