On 31 October, Cologne-based sports and lifestyle brand OACE opened a new store at Designer Outlet Roermond. The label's retail unit is situated within the shopping complex directly adjacent to units occupied by Liu Jo and Birkenstock. Co-founder Jan Kraume was present at the opening to oversee the brand's debut at the cross-border retail location.
The opening weekend saw sustained high footfall, with over 84,000 visitors recorded at the centre across those days. The retail asset traditionally draws a substantial portion of its catchment area from the Netherlands and neighbouring North Rhine-Westphalia.
Strategic enhancement of the sports and leisure segment
With this new letting, centre management is responding to resilient demand for everyday sportswear and trainers. OACE complements the existing line-up of international sporting goods manufacturers such as adidas, Nike and New Balance with concepts that blend functional gym wear with contemporary casual looks.
Patrick van den Hove, Centre Manager at Designer Outlet Roermond, explained that the brand mix is continually evolved in line with guest preferences. A diverse range comprising established corporations and younger fashion labels helps generate additional reasons to visit and shop throughout the entire year.
