Greenberg Traurig advised the founders and managing partners of Peakside Capital Advisors, Mr. Stefan Aumann and Mr. Boris Schran, as well as the other owner Mr. Simon Lutz, on the sale of the European real estate asset manager to DWS Group. The transaction, which expands DWS's expertise in value-add and opportunistic real estate investments, is expected to close by the end of 2026.
Peakside Capital Advisors, established as a specialist in real estate asset management, manages a real estate portfolio exceeding EUR 1.7 billion. This portfolio includes investments in Germany as well as Central and Eastern Europe and primarily targets institutional investors. The company employs 45 staff across strategically important locations in Zug, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Munich and Luxembourg.
Continuity in Management
Peakside Capital's existing leadership structure will largely remain in place after the acquisition. The current owners, Mr. Stefan Aumann, Mr. Boris Schran and Mr. Simon Lutz, will continue their work within the company. They will be supported by further members of senior management, Mr. Frank Schäfer and Mr. Karol Maziukiewicz, to ensure continued business development under the DWS umbrella.
Greenberg Traurig provided legal advice to the shareholders of Peakside Capital Advisors. Dr. Christian Schede, Co-Chair Global Real Estate and Founding Chairman Germany, led this transaction. The firm's expertise was crucial for structuring and handling the sales process.
This acquisition represents a strategic addition for DWS Group, further strengthening its position in the real estate asset management market and diversifying its offering for institutional investors.
