Novele, a company specialising in applied artificial intelligence in the energy sector, announced on Wednesday that it had concluded a Series A funding round amounting to $17 million. The objective is the national expansion of its services. The oversubscribed round was led by venture capitalist Boisei Labs, with participation from VC Locke Health, as well as Arup Ventures, the venture investment arm of global built environment consultancy Arup. Furthermore, a nationally active construction company also participated in the financing.

This investment highlights the growing interest in innovative energy solutions that can contribute to the decarbonisation of the building stock. The capital raised will enable Novele to further develop its technology platform and strengthen market penetration in additional regions. Given current global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, companies like Novele are crucial for the transformation of the real estate sector.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Expansion

The composition of investors, including Arup Ventures, signals a strategic focus on integrating Novele's solutions into larger construction and infrastructure projects. Arup's expertise in the built environment offers valuable synergies for the further development and implementation of intelligent energy management systems. Boisei Labs and Locke Health also contribute extensive experience in the technology sector.

National expansion is a significant step for Novele to make its technology more widely accessible. The company's applied AI technology aims to significantly improve the energy efficiency of buildings, reduce operating costs, and thus make a positive contribution to the sustainability of real estate portfolios. This is particularly relevant for institutional investors and property developers who increasingly prioritise ESG criteria.

The increased capitalisation will enable Novele to grow both in terms of personnel and technology. This includes hiring specialists for AI development and energy management, as well as scaling the existing infrastructure. The successful funding round positions Novele as an important player in the field of green building technologies, which are indispensable for the future development of the real estate market.
