Energy services provider FASTR has assumed the role of Bronze Partner of BFW Landesverband Bayern (BFW Regional Association Bavaria). The cooperation builds on an agreement originally established under the name BayWa Energie Dienstleistungs GmbH (BayWa EDL). Following its completed integration and subsequent rebranding, the engagement is now being continued under the FASTR brand. The company is among the specialist decarbonisation partners for the real estate industry and contributes its energy sector expertise to the Bavarian association network.
The aim of the partnership is to support association members in the energetic transformation of their portfolios. The focus is on economically viable, scalable and practical concepts for emissions reduction. In addition to technical exchange with member companies, the collaboration aims to deepen dialogue with political decision-makers and demonstrate viable solutions for complex energy management requirements.
Economic viability and security of supply in existing buildings
Jens Goldmund, Head of Commercial at FASTR, points to the conflicting demands currently confronting the sector. The real estate industry faces the task of harmonising climate targets, commercial viability and security of supply. He explains that this requires solutions that can be implemented in existing building stock rather than existing merely on paper. BFW Bavaria provides an important platform for exchange with companies and other stakeholders to develop viable approaches; coordination with municipalities also plays a central role.
Alongside networking, the collaboration focuses on information, advisory and professional development programmes. Through the continuous transfer of specialist knowledge, current challenges facing the property and energy sectors are to be addressed.
- —Continuous knowledge transfer regarding energy management and regulatory frameworks
- —Targeted information, advice and professional training for association members
- —Development of practical solutions for decarbonisation in existing building portfolios
- —Deepening dialogue between the real estate industry, politics and municipal decision-makers
Cooperation as the foundation of transformation
From the association's perspective, combining technical expertise with commercial understanding forms the foundation for successful portfolio development. Peter Hülsen, Managing Director of BFW Landesverband Bayern, emphasises that the building sector can achieve its transformation goals only through close collaboration between the real estate and energy sectors. He notes that FASTR combines energy industry expertise with an understanding of the commercial requirements of member companies, providing valuable momentum for the association.
The cooperation aims to provide member companies with well-founded guidance to position properties for the future. The structured exchange is intended to help identify obstacles in the implementation of energy and supply concepts at an early stage and promote commercially viable roll-outs across the Bavarian property market.
