John Mack, former chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley, and his wife Christy have listed their beachfront villa in the British Virgin Islands for US$24 million. The couple used the property as their Caribbean refuge for over a decade. Mack, who headed Morgan Stanley from 2005 until the end of 2009 and guided the investment bank through the financial crisis, acquired the property on Virgin Gorda in 2015. He then subjected it to an extensive gut renovation. The multi-year transformation was completed in 2019, allowing the couple to spend significant time at the villa known as “Ohm” in Oil Nut Bay during the pandemic.
The residence for sale spans 5,981 square feet and offers six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. A range of exclusive features highlights the property's high standard, including direct beach access, a heated infinity pool, a hot tub, two master suites, and five outdoor showers. This is complemented by a family kitchen and a separate chef’s kitchen, a media and games room, a private courtyard, and a 30-foot boat dock. Insights into the Property
Upon entering, the villa opens directly into a spacious main room featuring wood-effect porcelain flooring. The living area, dining area, and kitchen are designed here as an open-plan layout under a vaulted ceiling. This room features a central island, white cabinets extending almost from floor to ceiling, and long work surfaces. Built-in ovens, a large sink, a gas hob, and a stainless steel refrigerator give this kitchen a more professional character than the one in the main room.

Dark wall coverings surround the room, which is furnished with a deep U-shaped sectional sofa in front of a mounted television. During the day, the large window can remain open to let in sunlight. For movie nights, a blind completely darkens the room, transforming it into a home cinema. One of the villa's two master suites is located directly off the terrace, with a bedroom that opens to the outside through wide glass sliding doors. A bright four-poster bed stands under a vaulted ceiling, complemented by a bench at the foot of the bed and a small seating area. The suite's bathroom features a long double vanity under two round mirrors. At the end of the room, a freestanding bathtub sits under a wide window overlooking the tropical landscape. A large walk-in shower, with the same light tiles as the surrounding walls, completes the bathroom.

The first suite offers a light-filled bedroom with a large upholstered bed, colourful floral accents, and a door leading to an outdoor space. Its en-suite bathroom has two light wood vanities, placed back-to-back and separated by a lightly tiled wall. The second suite features a tall four-poster bed with soft blue accents and a chaise longue positioned under woven light fixtures. Directly behind the chaise longue, the suite opens to a private, stone-walled terrace with two lounge chairs. Inside, the suite's bathroom boasts two round mirrors above a long double vanity, similar to that of the master suite.
The villa's outdoor areas extend directly from the main room, from shaded entertaining spaces to the pool and all the way to the beach.
