Developer Garbe Industrial has fully let its recently completed new logistics building in Kamen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The occupier of the property is logistics service provider Sesé Deutschland, formerly van Eupen Logistik. The medium-sized company headquartered in Essen is taking over the total usable space of around 18,700 square metres for contract logistics operations. The symbolic handover for the building in the district of Unna has already taken place.
Garbe Industrial had commenced the development on Henry-Everling-Strasse on a speculative basis. The total investment volume for the project on the site of around 27,300 square metres amounts to approximately EUR 25.5 million. Nick Jung, Development Manager West at Garbe Industrial, explained that the long-term let secured prior to completion underlined the attractiveness of both the location and the property. Following an eight-month construction period, the complex is now entering operational use.
Infrastructural location and space structure
The property comprises around 16,500 square metres of hall space, complemented by 1,700 square metres of mezzanine space and approximately 500 square metres for office and social spaces. Sixteen dock levellers are available for logistics handling. The external area provides parking spaces for 27 cars and three HGVs. A key locational advantage is its visible frontage to the A 1 motorway. The Kamen-Zentrum junction can be reached in four minutes and ensures access after six kilometres via the Kamener Kreuz interchange to the A 2 towards Oberhausen and Berlin.
Johannes Schwarze, Head of Tender and Launch Management at Sesé, emphasised the value of direct transport links at one of the country's central transport hubs. With this step, the Essen-based company is expanding its operational capacity. The new building will serve to deliver complex logistics services on behalf of commercial clients.

Sustainability standards and energy concept
Modern energy standards were taken into account during the construction of the building. A photovoltaic system is installed on the roof to generate renewable energy. The heating system is based on air-source heat pumps. Garbe Industrial is targeting Gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the property.
