Garbe Industrial has prematurely extended the lease agreement with Toolport, a provider of tent solutions. Toolport occupies a total area of approximately 18,500 square metres in the Nordport commercial area in Norderstedt, adjacent to Hamburg. This space is used for storing tents, pop-up gazebos, foil greenhouses and corresponding accessories.
Philipp Petersen, Regional Manager Hamburg in Garbe Industrial's Real Estate Management, highlighted the significance of this agreement. He described the premature and long-term extension as the result of effective asset management. Petersen emphasised that reliable tenancy agreements are of great relevance in the current market environment. Garbe Industrial interprets Toolport's decision for an early continuation of the cooperation as an expression of mutual trust and a positive signal for the logistics property market in the Hamburg hinterland.
Planning Security for E-commerce
Toolport, a company that now operates 18 country-specific online shops, also benefits from this long-term partnership. Sven Herrmann, Chief Operating Officer at Toolport, stated that planning security is a decisive factor for e-commerce companies. Through the premature contract extension, the company strengthens its Norderstedt location and creates a reliable outlook for further growth.
Toolport acts as an anchor tenant in the logistics property at Nordportbogen. The company occupies just over half of the total area of approximately 34,000 square metres. Garbe Industrial acquired the existing property in 2020. Another renowned company from the aerospace technology sector is among the other tenants of the property. In addition to approximately 27,000 square metres of warehouse space, the property also includes 1,950 square metres of warehouse mezzanine and almost 5,200 square metres of office space. The plot of land on which the property stands measures about 55,000 square metres.
Location Qualities in Nordport
The Nordport commercial area, where the property is located, has developed into a significant logistics hub. More than 50 companies, including prominent national and international logistics providers, have established themselves there, employing around 3,500 people. A characteristic feature of the location is its immediate proximity to Hamburg Airport. Just a few hundred metres from the logistics centre, Garbe operates the World Cargo Center, which is considered one of Europe's largest air freight transhipment hubs. Furthermore, Garbe Industrial is present in Norderstedt with additional logistics centres.
